William Bell wins Soul Prize from L'Académie du Jazz, Paris !!!

William Bell's latest release on Stax / Concord "This Is Where I Live", has won the 2016 Soul Prize from acclaimed institution L'Académie du Jazz based in Paris, France during ceremonies held January 21, 2017. In lieu of Bell's absence, François Arveiller from Universal Jazz France accepted the prize.

The "French Jazz Academy Awards" is the oldest and most serious award institution in France for music (it was created in 1955 !). Its various presidents were -or are- well known in the world of arts and music (Jean Cocteau, André Hodeir, Maurice Cullaz, Stéphane Grappelli, Martial Solal, Claude Carrière... and François Lacharme now). The college of voters consists of 60 independant journalists, photographers, writers and radio/tv producers.

Congratulations to Mr.William Bell and team, this album is a true gem !
